🏡Management Notes

  • If your lease is about to expire, you may be tempted to make a change. Perhaps you’ve been seduced by slick advertisements for a new apartment, or maybe you think it’s just time to try something new. But, it’s important to remember that the grass is not always greener on the other side. Plus, here are 3 great reasons why we believe that you should renew your lease with us:

    1. Our Excellent Service ~ Our management team’s number one priority is to provide you, and our other community members with top-notch service. We value our tenants, and when they are having issues, we work diligently to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible. Our maintenance team keeps everything running smoothly for you. If you own a home, you are responsible for handling repairs and lawn care yourself.

    2. Exceptional Value ~ We know you have options, so we always strive to keep our rent prices competitive. That way, we can give you the most value for your hard-earned dollar.

    3. It Makes Sense for Your Life ~ Moving will cost you money, time, and is a lot of hard, labor-intensive work. In addition, you may incur hidden fees when you own a home, such as HOA fees and appliance repairs.

Contact Us ~ Have questions about your lease renewal? Then call or stop by our office. Our management team would be happy to discuss your renewal options with you.

  • If you’re renting an apartment, townhome, or condo you’ll need an insurance policy to cover your belongings. Many people assume they are covered by their landlord’s policy, or they underestimate the value of their personal items. Another often overlooked reason is liability. If someone is injured in your home, they could sue you. Renter’s insurance policies are affordable so be sure to take advantage and protect your belongings, yourself, or someone else.

Seasonal Tips

Do Something You’ve Always Meant To
It’s a near-universal experience: every day on your way home from work you walk past a little art gallery and tell yourself that one day you’re going to stop in—but you’re always in a hurry to get home. Or you’ve been meaning to take a few days to drive two states over to meet your new niece—and she just celebrated her second birthday. Time flies. Art galleries close. Newborn relatives head off to kindergarten. Life is busy and resources are limited. You may not be able to drop everything and make that long-anticipated trip to Italy this summer but you can take a few hours out to try ice skating or put some crazy highlights in your hair, or have lunch with an old friend you haven’t made time for in ages. Don’t wait for the perfect moment to do something you’ve always wanted to do. DO IT TODAY!

January is National Hobby Month

The perfect time of year to pick up a new hobby or get back into an old one that you haven’t thought about in a while! The great thing about having a hobby is that it can take your mind off the pressure of work or other daily stresses, which improves your health and well-being. Sit down and think about what you really love to do. What are you passionate about in life? What sparks your interest the most? What are you curious about? What are your goals? Finding a good hobby and giving yourself time to take part in it daily or weekly is sure to make you happier and healthier.

Feel the Love this February!

It is said that birds propose to each other or marry on February 14th. It also marks the first day of spring in some places. The roots of Valentine's Day go back as far as 269 AD with the martyring of Valentine of Rome and has extended over time through many folk traditions associated with the beginning of spring. Our modern customs connecting the day with love began in the UK with the sending of chocolate, gifts, and flowers. From all that, we take away the message of rebirth (spring) and love. Whether you're single or in a relationship, take some time to nurture yourself, say "I love you" to you! Appreciate who you are, flaws included. Here are some ways to give your confidence a boost:

Make a list: Write down 10 positive things—physical and emotional—about yourself. Include compliments from others, no matter how trivial. Then list five weaknesses. Making note of your limitations can help you accept, adapt to, and even change them.

Put some pep in your step: When your confidence is low, try walking a little more briskly than usual. Be sure to keep your head and shoulders straight, make eye contact and smile. You will look and feel more empowered and will make a positive impression on those around you.

Look for the best in others: Giving compliments and praise to others when appropriate will help break your own cycle of negativity. An improved attitude will also draw people to you, helping expand your circle of friends and supportive peers.

Take action: Find something you’ve been putting off —such as organizing a closet, making an appointment or calling a friend—and do it. Completing even a small task will give you a sense of accomplishment.

You may have heard the saying “If March comes in like a lion, it will go out like a lamb.” But where does it come from? According to the Farmers’ Almanac, the weather folklore stems from ancestral beliefs in balance, meaning if the weather at the start of March was bad (roaring, like a roaring lion), the month should end with good weather (gentle, like a lamb).

🔧Maintenance Notes

  • A basic toolbox is a must-have for every apartment resident. You never know when you might have to tighten a screw, hang up some decorations, or put together a piece of furniture. Having the right tools on hand can also save you from having to wait for our maintenance team for a little repair job that you could easily complete. The following are the essential tools that every apartment resident should have:

    • Screwdriver set -- You’ll need various sizes of both types of screwdrivers -- the Phillips head, which has a tip with an X shape, and the standard head, which has a tip with a straight line.

    • Allen Wrench -- This L-shaped tool has a hexagonal tip and is often used for assembling furniture

    • Adjustable wrench -- Wrenches are not only useful for repairs, but they can also be used to twist off too-tight bottle lids.

    • Level -- If your apartment allows you to put things on your walls, you’ll want to have a level to ensure that your items will be hung up straight.

    • Hammer

    • Pliers

    • Retractable measuring tape

    • Flashlight You’ll also need a toolbox in which to store and carry these items. And while it’s not technically a tool, a step stool is something that is useful to have in your apartment.
