Maintenance Notes🔧

Keep Your Home in Top Shape 🔧

1. Test Your Air Conditioning Early 🌞

As the weather heats up, it’s a good idea to test your air conditioning unit before the summer months. Turn it on and set it to your desired temperature. Make sure it’s blowing cool air and not making any unusual noises or working too hard. If something seems off, it may need servicing. Avoid the stress of hot, humid days by addressing any issues before the heat sets in.

To request maintenance, please contact our maintenance hotline at 866-993-5495.

Pro Tip: Always turn off your air conditioning if the temperature drops below 60°F to prevent the unit from freezing up.

2. Fire Safety: Keeping Your Home and Neighbors Safe 🔥

Living at Ramblewood Apartments means being part of a caring community. Keeping a fire extinguisher in your apartment or townhome is essential not only for your safety but also for the safety of your neighbors. But if you’ve never used a fire extinguisher before, it can seem a bit intimidating. Don’t worry—we’ve broken it down for you!

Picking the Right Fire Extinguisher
Fire extinguishers come in different types based on the fires they’re designed to put out. The most common categories are:

  • Class A: For ordinary combustibles like wood, paper, and cloth.

  • Class B: For flammable liquids like oil, gasoline, or grease.

  • Class C: For electrical fires.

For home use, a multi-purpose ABC fire extinguisher is your best bet. It can handle most types of small fires, giving you peace of mind. Fire extinguishers also come in various sizes, so choose one you can comfortably handle. Larger extinguishers may have more capacity, but they can also be heavier.

Where to Keep Your Fire Extinguisher
The key is to keep your fire extinguisher in a easily accessible spot. Kitchens are the most common area where fires start, so place it in a convenient but safe location, away from heat sources like stoves or ovens. If you live in a multi-level townhome, consider having an extinguisher on each floor for added safety.

How to Use a Fire Extinguisher
If you ever need to use your fire extinguisher, remember the acronym PASS:

  • P – Pull the pin to break the tamper seal.

  • A – Aim low, targeting the base of the fire.

  • S – Squeeze the handle to release the extinguishing agent.

  • S – Sweep the nozzle from side to side until the fire is completely out.

Important Reminder: Fire extinguishers are meant for small, manageable fires. If a fire becomes too large or the environment becomes unsafe, evacuate immediately and call 911.

Seasonal Tips

Refresh & Rejuvenate This Spring 🌸

Spring is here, and it’s the perfect time to freshen up your living space! As the days get longer and the weather warms up, take these simple steps to prepare your home for the new season:

Spruce Up Your Outdoor Spaces 🌿

Add a burst of color to your outdoor areas with vibrant flowers or stylish outdoor furniture. A few well-placed planters or a cozy seating area can create a welcoming environment where you can relax and enjoy the spring weather.

Spring Cleaning Tips 🧹

Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up—it's about refreshing your entire living environment! Consider these key cleaning tasks:

  • Deep clean your home: Clean out the fridge, vacuum vent covers, and dust those hard-to-reach areas like ceiling fans and baseboards.

  • Clean your AC filter: A clean air filter will ensure optimal air quality and help your AC system run efficiently as warmer weather sets in.

A thorough spring cleaning can make a big difference in creating a fresh, comfortable space for the season ahead!
